Quick Overview

Williams Struggle Buggies 1953 vintage antique flipper woodrail pinball machine with maple wood rail set and original legs. This extremely rare machine, produced in a small number suspected originally under 500 units or less. This is an original electro mechanical machine from the '50s, made only for a couple of years from 1953 with a race car crash derby, smash-up derby theme later very popular with the Roackabilly culture. This theme both appeals to antique car fanatics, and of course fans of the great 1950's. Game design was created by Harry Mabs and the Artwork design was created by George Molentin. Although this machine could make a spectacular decorative piece for a restaurant, bar, retail store, coffee shop, loft or tech company, it's also got pretty much all its important components for restoration, including original maple legs and wood rail set, all working solenoids but one back piece coil and the front wood top rail piece need replacing. Lights-up, and coils are functional, but the machine needs some adjusting and maintenance. restoring it would increase its value enormously, and one sold restored for ove $5000 USD from Restoration Hardware within the last few years. Missing the back panel to the head, the front maple top wood rail and the number '7' pumper cap. All parts are very easily findable and also compatible with many models of Williams wood rail pinballs from the 50's and 60's. The coil identified that needs to be replaced is number 3-28-960 ( part now in hand and available ) and a few standard contact switches need to be cleaned or replaced, but easily accessible. According to the Internet Pinball Serial Number Database https://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=2407 only roughly a half dozen of these machines exist still Worldwide. Four machines of this model are registered by businesses or collectors in the USA and one other to our knowledge is located Holland in a private collection.
This pinball will be sold as-is without warranty.
